At the age of 5, Sarahs older brother started taking riding lessons with a school program, and like many younger siblings, all she wanted to do was ride as well. While his riding career ended before it began, Sarahs passion and love of horses grew exponentially. She trained locally, competing in hunters, jumpers and Equitations until her late teens. She then moved on to ride with one of the best in the world, Irish two time World Championship silver medalist Eddie Macken. She spent her time strengthening her knowledge as a rider under his tutelage, riding in the High Amateurs and working for Andreas Rodriguez until her family bought the property that is now Highland Farms. Sarah continued to compete internationally while developing a sales and breeding program.

While Sarah’s heart lies under the lights of the grand prix ring, her joy comes from scouting the perfect sport horse to add to the HFL sales roster.
